Careers

Careers Lead: Mr W Roberts email: info@sjms.bwcet.com

At St. Joseph’s Catholic Middle School we are committed to ensuring that our pupils spend time thinking about what their future holds. The opportunities and experiences we offer aim to provide pupils with access to a wide variety of choices that exist, and is underpinned by our school mission statement. We believe that this will provide pupils the foundations to continue to love, learn and grow together, as followers of Jesus.

We are aware that high quality careers guidance is crucial to help students emerge from school as more fully rounded individuals and ready to face the challenges that might be presented in the world of work and further education.

Our careers programme provides access to a range of activities that inspire and engage young people. This includes employer talks, week long career events, house competitions and opportunities to engage with further education providers. There are a huge number of opportunities for pupils to reflect on their skills, relevant careers and associated pathways, through specific drop down events and our robust pastoral programme.

What are the Gatsby Benchmarks?

The Careers Programme is regularly assessed against the eight Gatsby Benchmarks of good career guidance. We welcome feedback from parents/carers, pupils and employers which helps us to measure the impact of our careers programme.
