Welcome

St Joseph’s is an inclusive, vibrant and dynamic Middle school within the Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust.

We are a Catholic school but welcome applications from those of other faiths or no faith who share our ethos and values. We are large enough to be able to offer a diverse curriculum whilst maintaining a focus of the progress of the individual. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and have strong faculties that encourage our students to develop their sporting, musical and creative skills. We are a school at the heart of Hexham and are very proud of the success of our motivated students and dedicated staff who understand the value of professionalism and innovation in everything that we do.

Our Values

At St Joseph’s Democracy is embedded. The elections of School Council representatives are based solely on staff and pupil votes, reflecting our British electoral system and demonstrating democracy in action. Pupils are taught about the importance of the Law.

Often members from local authorities e.g. Police, Firemen, Ambulance Service are invited into St Joseph’s to discuss the reason we have Law. This helps reinforce the importance of following rules. At St Joseph’s we encourage children to make choices in everyday school life.

Letters

We send out letters and newsletters on a regular basis to keep parents up to date with school decisions and progress.

At St Joseph's, we keep our parents, carers and families informed about upcoming events and celebrations of our children's successes. We regularly publish a newsletter, which is sent out electronically to all of our parents and is made available on this page. We also use Social media to share the very latest events, learning and religious celebrations that take place within our school.
